After working on this drawing on and off since March, it is a pleasure to finally unveil it.
Of course, to enjoy its full splendour (and the stunning & unique method of finishing - VERY excited!), one has to visit Soul In The Machine this July 4th @ Rich Mix, London.
This will be one of over 30 original drawings comprising my first solo exhibition in the city.
I have been recently introduced to the poetry of Katie Ford, and would rather she give narration to this landscape...
THE SOUL
It disappeared.
It reappeared
as chimney smoke
that burnt through carcasses
of swallows stilled,
and that it portrayed no will
was why I followed that smoke
with this pair of eyes.
It was that it didn’t need
or require my belief
that I leant upon it
as a tired worker
upon
a gate.

In the mean time to July 4th, may this give you a taste of what is to come.
- A Portal emerging in the metabolising conflict zone between matter and anti-matter. Embedded within layers and layers of energy; some coalesced into elements and nebulae, others as vectors, and those in purer forms.
- The Immanent (Al Batin) manifests geometry, order and design in a reality without form, as the traveller approaches. Each star a niche of Heavenly light.
- What is Evident (Zahir) is that we are beyond machines, technologies and the hands of men.
"The Qur'aan has an Outward aspect (Zahir), it has an Inward aspect (Batin), it has a Definitive aspect, and it has a Point of Departure." - Prophet Muhammed, Peace be Upon Him.
